Excellent sermon by John Gray. Readings Psalm 16 and Luke 16:19-31 on the subject of credible clues to a creator God; Living hope.

Readings: Isaiah 53; Romans 5:1-11

Synopsis:

Mike poses the question: "How can you believe in a God of love in the face of all this suffering?". He goes onto explain how suffering itself is evidence of the existence of a loving God reminding us that when you scratch beneath the surface we can see there is:

- value in suffering,

- usefulness in suffering,

- and if we put our trust in a loving Creator God He can also bring transformation through suffering.

He then counters the opening question with posing: "how do you endure the idea of suffering without a loving God to give you hope?"

Synopsis:

Adam encourages to be ready, in season and out of season, to tell those that we love about the reason for the hope we have in Jesus Christ. He instructs us to do this by:

- Being prepared - know why you have a hope In Christ specifically, seek God to help with this.

- Being yourself - do this with gentleness and respect, measured and thoughtful, but bold declaration tailored to the individual you are speaking with.

- Praying for God's help

Readings: 2 Kings 5:1-16; John 2:1-12

Synopsis:

Mike uses the example of Naaman's wife's maidservant to encourage us to show God's grace to those we are in community with; whether this be neighbours, work colleagues or others.

This is the "Do" element of the "Be, Do, Tell" steps into our Year of Mission.
