Readings: Matthew 16:21-28, Philippians 3:1-11

Synopsis:

Nigel reminds us, through Paul's letter to the Philippians, of our need to trust in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation and not through our "religious CVs" or the list of works we have done. As we do so it fundamentally changes our relationship with God. Knowing Jesus is about more than just knowing about the historical figure, it is about growing in our relationship with Him and trust in Him.

Synopsis:

Paul sent Timothy and Epaphroditus to the Philippian church as an encouragement to them and to be role models of how to love one another and how to love God. Jit expounds how, God will judge us not on any works we do, but how we have loved Him and loved our neighbours - including, and particularly, our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Jit Patel shares some words on our need to continue to "work out our salvation". Recognising that our salvation is granted when with our hearts, minds and lips we declare Jesus Christ as Lord, making Jesus Lord in our lives is a daily walk and choice.
