Construction requires consistency. A building can be built by 10,000 nails; it takes one nail at a time. In the same way, the Christian life is more about consistency than fits of passion. Sanctification is about discipline, not motivation. Success happens slowly, then all at once.

Sometimes construction has setbacks. When it comes to sanctification, we might stumble and make mistakes. But the important thing is to give ourselves the same grace Jesus gives us and try again.

Construction requires a plan. In the same way, becoming like Christ requires a big plan, a blueprint outlining who Christ is and what he’s done and what he’s said so we know who God is shaping us to be.
