What do you do when you’ve tried everything… and nothing works?
In this powerful Lenten message on John 5:1–18, we encounter a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years and reached a place many of us know too well:
“I have no man.”
No solution.
No strength.
No way out.
And yet, this is exactly where the mercy of God meets him.
This sermon challenges a deeply rooted misconception in the spiritual life:
that healing comes from trying harder, doing more, or being better.
Instead, we are reminded that:
• It is not your effort that heals you
• It is not your discipline that saves you
• It is not even your strength or consistency
It is Christ.
From misplaced trust in people, habits, and systems…
to the freeing truth of God’s unconditional mercy, this message calls us to:
• Stop relying on ourselves
• Stop running to false sources of healing
• And finally come to the place where we say:
“Lord, I have nothing… only Your mercy.”
This is the turning point.
This is where real healing begins.
