Each of these stories asks the same question: Are we truly living as sons and daughters of God?

Although we receive this identity through baptism, many believers still live with the mindset of slaves or orphans. Some, like the prodigal son, wander away from the Father. Others, like the older brother, remain in the Father’s house but live without joy or freedom. And some, like the Samaritan woman, encounter Christ for the first time and are completely transformed.

Fr Augustinos delves into a very important topic on how to enjoy the liturgy as a family including some practical advice for parents on how to approach the liturgy as not something we just attend as a family but as the body of Christ.

The initial three nocturnal trials before Jewish authorities—Annas, Caiaphas, and the Sanhedrin—were religious in nature, focusing on charges of blasphemy for claiming to be the Son of God. The subsequent three morning trials before Roman officials—Pilate, Herod, and a final appearance before Pilate—shifted to political accusations, such as inciting the nation and claiming to be a rival king to Caesar. Notably, the Jews chose to pursue a Roman trial to elevate the punishment from stoning to the more humiliating and painful execution by crucifixion, which ultimately concluded with Pilate condemning Jesus to death.

The lamp of the body is the eye.

The way we see things will determine a lot.

The father saw the return of his son in a completely different way than the elder son.

So many of us are out there "pushing pyramids"! The father of the prodigal son was truly an amazing man and father; he was actually a symbol of Christ. but in spite of this, both his sons had major issues. Control is a myth, a mirage that many of us are extremely frustrated and exhausted because we seem to never achieve it. knowing this, accepting this, and focusing on the Stewardship of the Moment is where our true peace & comfort & rest begins

The first conflict arises when individuals mistakenly define themselves by their failures rather than their permanent status as children of God, a divine privilege that cannot be revoked by sin. The second conflict involves a distortion of belonging, where one becomes lost in a "far country" that may be a physical location of vice or a detached state of mind characterized by emotional resentment and spiritual dissociation. Ultimately, the message calls for a mental awakening where the believer reclaims their true identity and realizes that their only rightful place is in the loving presence of the Father.
