Jesus teaches kingdom principles to His disciples through parables. Why does He do that and what is His purpose in hiding gospel truths to ‘outsiders’?

Jesus wants ordinary disciples. Followers whose faithfulness is not dependent on their own righteousness or greatness, but on God’s grace and forgiveness. People whose testimony to the difference Jesus makes distinguishes them against people who assert that Jesus’ Authority and Power come not from God but are self-serving; which is a total rejection of God and is unforgiveable.

Jesus is a real person, an historical reality who is also the Son of God. He came to proclaim the message of God, to repent (turn away from rejecting God) and believe (in Jesus as the Son of God) that leads to salvation.

Mark is to be proclaimed, to be read out loud; to help people know that Jesus is the Messiah, the One who God sent to Save, the Song God who’s message of salvation saves all people.

The privilege of being Christ’s representatives in the world; including loving our neighbours as one expression of this.
