On Sunday, September 11th Bishop Boyea asked all priests of the Diocese to read his pastoral letter regarding the Reproductive Freedom For All Amendment (Proposition 3) which will be on the ballot for the midterm elections in November. This amendment will affirm unrestricted abortion-on-demand, throughout all nine months of pregnancy, for any reason whatsoever, as a fundamental right in our state constitution. Once in the constitution, abortion will be in Michigan forever.

In this homily given at St Pat's on August 28, 2022, Fr. Mathias breaks open the gospel on Jesus' teaching on humility and exaltation. He offers four ways of humbling ourselves so that God might exalted us with Jesus in the kingdom of heaven:
1) Take the lowest place whenever you can
2) Receive honors and exaltation with humility
3) Intentionally love others who cannot love you back
4) Remember that God will pay you back in heaven.
Since Jesus is the one who first humbled himself to exalt us and was exalted at the right hand of the Father in heaven, our decision to live like Jesus positions us to be exalted in heaven with him.
In this homily from August 21, 2022, Deacon Dave Carignan preaches on the question, “Lord, will only a few people be saved?” The homily focuses on our spiritual journey; a journey that every person is on. Jesus describes the way to salvation and that way is only found in Him, for He is the way, the truth and the life, no goes to the Father except through Him. There are two pathways, which one are we on?
In this homily from July 24, 2022, Deacon Dave Carignan talks about our Lord's prayer and how we are to call out to the Father with the trusting heart of a child. Seeking the Father's will we come to know His Son, our Lord. This 4th Sunday of July is World day for grandparents and the elderly. The homily urges grandparents to pray for their children and grandchildren as this is the greatest act that they go do. Ask, seek, and knock and your prayer will be answered.
