The first of two chapters of the letters to the church, the ones who are receiving this instruction by revelation of God through the Apostle John, to encourage all believers to be deligent in faith and works and trust God.

God reveals to us the times since the time of Jesus' ascension into heaven until His coming back at the end of the world.

God's move to save the people of Nineveh, though it is "evil in the sight of Jonah," is the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ.

God allows Jonah a redo, and this time he goes and the people of Nineveh repent so that God exercises His mercy and they are spared.

Jonah prays to God, his only Hope.

Jonah tries to run from God and what God tells him to do, but God turns him around.

God will take revenge on the people of Edom who have oppressed God's people.

God promises punishment for those who are wicked and reject Him, but promises restoration to those who repent and put their faith in Him.

There is a judgment Day when God calls us to account for our actions. But don't let there be a "famine" of hearing the Word of God, and turning to Him for salvation.

God shows Amos what will happen if people continue to stray from God and Amos pleads for the people.
