When Jesus says he is the bread of life, this is more than eating something. We find in Jesus’ words his coming in more substantive ways, in relational terms. This all is where we find God’s grace at work for the sake of our salvation.

A free lunch is great, but Jesus is about more than free stuff, he's the very embodiment of God who gives all things. It's good to remember grace is free, but it isn't cheap.

Sometimes miracles are more than they first appear. While feeding the masses (with leftovers to spare) may be miraculous, the true miracle is how the leftover masses choose to follow Jesus, who is "the Way."

Jesus calms the storm, and with it the disciples. His words "why are you afraid?" recognize the fearful event they experienced, but likewise challenge them to find peace in his presence then and forever.

The kingdom of God is just like... an invasive weed? Yes! God does impossible things, and nurtures in us the ability to sprout and grow to help the kingdom of God cover the whole earth with a message of peace and love.

Jesus returns home to a lukewarm reception as he’s scolded for his boundless sharing of God's love. He then redefines "family" as those who do God's will and love as God loves. Everyone deserves that love because everyone is awesome!
