Christian generosity begins with the humble understanding that every person and possession really belongs to God, for He created them. Hence, God is the owner, and we are managers with all that He entrusts to our earthly care.

What happens to us when we die? What about our loved ones? The answers are even better than you might think!

How often do we think of ourselves as prey? Yet Peter warns us that every day in our walk with Jesus we are being hunted by a vicious, cunning, and determined foe. How do we overcome? The God of all grace summons us to resist him. How? Firm in faith, in fellowship with each other, and established in Christ.

In Christ, God’s kingdom is our permanent address. Therefore, Jesus directs our focus to His Kingdom/Him, in the promise that His Father will graciously meet our earthly needs as well. Hence, we can stop being anxious.

The peace of God flows from the God of peace. Christian faith transforms thought management. Though we can’t control most aspects of life, we can pick what we ponder. In the battle against anxious thoughts, the Holy Spirit works to direct our minds to things above where our lives are hidden with God in Christ.

Anxiety loves to play two losing games: (1) the if only game; and (2) the plus game (i.e., layoffs plus a pandemic). Both games end in despair. God’s answer is prayer, not despair; peace comes when we give our anxieties to God and leave them there!

Anxiety also follows guilt. Guilt sits in the human soul like a rock and digresses from thinking I did bad to believing I am bad. God’s cure for guilt is grace. In Jesus, our verdict on the Last Day is guiltless!
