Fasting alone is not enough, as it is a thing of the flesh and not of the spirit. Fasting accompanied by continuous prayer is key for spiritual growth during a fast. One minute of prayer while fasting and hungry is worth an hour of prayer while the stomach is full. The 40 days of Lent are special in that they are reserved for contemplation and renewal of the connection with Christ. Christ Himself went into the wilderness alone for 40 days, ate nothing, and let His Spirit speak with His Father. So must we let our spirit be one with the Holy Spirit that is in us, allow it to nourish our spirit, and bring us closer to our Father. Constant prayer with God means an ongoing relationship and a link between you and Him. In every action and in every place, whether in seclusion or in public, we can pray to God our Savior and act in His name.

Uncle Misho uses Revelations 21 to discuss what the kingdom of heaven will be like and what characteristics the participants of paradise will have. Uncle Misho also reads to us the poignant story of a monk who passed away but wrote his experience of entering heaven on paper, which gives us a wonderful glimpse of what happens immediately following death. After understanding what heaven will be like, you’ll remember to look straight up after every fall knowing what’s in store for those who struggle and love Christ.

Maged & Joy Demterious each describe what true love is AND isn't. They show us what is expected from the respected genders within relationships and look at biblical relationships exhibited throughout the bible. They were also gracious enough to give personal insights and experiences that beneficial to all.

Wahid discusses how repentance entails not only regret and sorrow, but an absolute reversal; to abandon sin and turn back to Him with all your heart.

Bishop David first gives his condolences to the youth of St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church for the loss of our beloved father Abouna Bishoy, then His Grace educates us on the power of prayer during this holy fast of Lent, and then he concludes with a question and answer session with the youth.

Wahid helps us reflect on the qualities that made Abouna Bishoy Demetrious so unique and perfect for St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church. Also, many others give their memories, testimonies, and experiences with their beloved father.

We are forced to make countless decisions in our daily lives; some are of little importance and others hold a hefty weight. Regardless, all decisions essentially have an effect. This lesson should give you insight as to how to make wise decisions that will ultimately reflect you as a mirror image of Christ to others around you. Remember, every action has a reaction--we must be wise with the decisions we make.
