Paul goes behind the curtain with the stars and director for the upcoming in-concert performances of the Sondheim/LaPine classic: “Sunday in the Park with George,” to be presented by Porchlight Music Theatre at the Studebaker Theater ONLY on Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th.
Joining in the conversation are the show’s stars: Sean Allan Krill (Broadway’s “Parade,” and Tony nominated performance for “Jagged Little Pill”) and Kathy Voytko (Broadway’s “Music Man” where she went on for Sutton Foster with hours notice and a crowd appreciating now viral thank you by Hugh Jackman; “Oklahoma, the revival” with Patrick Wilson and Andrea Martin, “Evita,” “Passion,” and “Phantom of the Opera”) and the production’s director (and Porchlight Music Theatre’s Artistic Director) Michael Weber.
The production will be presented with the original Sondheim orchestrations and a full orchestra in the historic setting of the Studebaker Theater. One of Sondheim’s classic shows, it was not a commercial hit when it ran on Broadway for 600+ performances starring Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters, but today, is considered a classic with well known songs and a knock-‘em-dead ensemble/chorus that is sure to be a production not soon forgotten.
Listen in to the informative and fun chat, and don’t wait to get your tickets. With only two performances of this magnificent production, tickets will not last much longer: www.porchlightmusictheatre.org
