Staggered Stance

John Houck, arguably the best course designer in the world with over 120 solo courses designed and 21 courses that have been used for World and National Championships! Besides being a back to back Freestyle Frisbee World Champion he also served as the comissioner for the PDGA from 1994-1996. He's a PDGA hall of famer and we brought him on the show to share his knowledge on course design.

We end the show talking about what it takes to go pro in disc golf and play on tour.

PDGA Ratings are something that will confuse the most intelligent disc golfers. This episode will either dirty the water more for you, or you might have a light bulb moment where everything clicks! Chuck Kennedy, the inventor of the PDGA Rating System joins us to go deep into your questions.

We also play Judge That Disc Golfer, talk about Open Air style courses as opposed to the woods style course. A short conversation surrounding "Artificial OB" also takes place.

Episode 7 brought TWO awesome guests. Nate Heinold joins us as a PDGA Board member and candidate for re-election. He is also the TD of the richest payout in disc golf tournament history, the Ledgestone Insurance Open.

Jeff Spring, CEO of the Disc Golf Pro Tour, also joined us later in the show to go over the CBS Sports Network deal that was announced last week.

We also added a new segment called "Would You Rather". We discuss our opinions on what we would rather do in certain disc golf situations.

This is our SIXTH episode and are excited to have Steve Dodge (Vibram - DGPT - BIRDIE!) on the show! We talk about what it will take to catch the next wave of disc golf growth. We discuss outside sponsorships and how to get the "A-list" level sponsors. Of course you'll hear us play the game Judge That Disc Golfer as well as a "breaking news" situation in regards to a CBS Sports Network broadcast that was announced 10 minutes prior to the show recording!

We are joined by World Champion disc golfer, Dave Feldberg. He joins the show as a guest host and shares what is the most missunderstood thing about himself.

We talk about the amateur tournament experience and Matt argues that TD's shouldn't have to disclose every dollar of where the registration fee goes, as well as limiting player packs to a more reasonable size and expectation.

Dave shares some incredible insight on how to be mentally tough and how to turn nerves into excitement on the disc golf course.

We are joined by Hunter Thomas of Foundation AND Supreme Flight where he brings us up to date on some MAJOR announcments they just released.

He also joins our conversation about par being to easy and has some great insight for our topic of paying to watch disc golf and the future of disc golf media coverage. We even had a SURPRISE visit from Jonny V of SmashboxxTV!

Matt Krueger of UDisc joins us as the guest host where we talk about some recent updates to the already amazing disc golf app. We go on to talk about getting hit by a disc golf disc. Apparently many people have either been hit, hit someone else, or have observed it happening! We conclude the show debating wether or not disc golf is actually easier than golf.

Hannah McBeth joins us for episode two!

She shares some new insights into what it's like to be married to the best disc golfer in the world. We ask her if she loves disc golf and how her journey with disc golf may have been different without Paul McBeth as her husband.

We also review the re-launch of the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) and it's new event requirements. Nick Carl talks about what it was like to caddy for Brodie Smith and then we talk about how much you would pay (or wouldnt pay) to play disc golf,

Give us a follow if you think our content is good on The Nick & Matt Show.

Our first episode ever features Simon Lizotte and Terry Miller. We talk the current state of Disc Golf with all the tournament cancelations and play a game called "Judge That Disc Golfer".
