In this episode of the Stalking Shadows Podcast, I share my recent run-in with a protected predator—the brown hyena—which has taken two of my calves. I also dive into past encounters with another protected killer, the leopard, and discuss my growing concerns about the outdated data surrounding these animals in South Africa.

Focusing especially on the Eastern Cape, I explore how livestock farmers are experiencing more frequent run-ins with these powerful and often misunderstood predators. This episode highlights the tension between conservation efforts and the realities faced by those living and working alongside these incredible animals.
