Stand Firm in the Lord - Philippians 3:17-4:1

Christian fellowship is meant to be lived out in a community that mutually encourages one another to faithfully live the gospel and follow godly examples in order to stand firm in their faith. In Paul’s letter to the Philippians, he challenges believers to imitate him and closely watch those who walk according to the example of the gospel as they await the Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ (Phil. 3:17). Paul also warns them that there are some among them who walk as enemies of the cross of Christ—those who are against believers and oppose the message of the gospel they proclaim, which affects their fellowship (vv. 18-19). In contrast, true believers are united to live their new life in Christ and embrace their heavenly citizenship. Therefore, Christians should cooperate to help one another follow the example of Christ and become more like Him.
