Standards in March

Listen Later

In Episode 24, “Standards in March,” I break down a week across Carolina Athletics that brought both frustration and momentum as postseason play officially begins. Men’s basketball’s ACC Tournament run came to an early end with a tough loss to Clemson, raising questions about the standard of Carolina basketball and what needs to improve moving forward. I also look ahead to the NCAA Tournament, where the Tar Heels enter as a 6-seed and prepare for a matchup against VCU, with the opportunity to prove they can still compete at a high level despite adversity. On the women’s side, Carolina continues its strong season, winning 13 of its last 15 games and earning the chance to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament in Carmichael Arena. I break down their momentum, key milestones, and what to expect as they begin March Madness at home as a 4-seed against Western Illinois. I also recap a big week across Olympic sports, including women’s lacrosse extending its dominant run, multiple All-American performances in track and field, a strong showing from Carolina baseball with a weekend sweep, and several other programs continuing successful seasons. With March here, this episode focuses on the expectations, pressure, and standards that come with competing at Carolina as teams head into the most important stretch of the year.
