This week's episode is a recording of a talk that I gave at the Underground Network's Catalyst gathering last weekend. We dig into the mythology and stories that lie at the root of Babylon and wrestle with the ways we still embody it's ethos today. This story of men standing in defiance to the ways of Babylon, even under the threat of violence challenges us to reflect on the Heroes of the faith throughout history that have sacrificed their very lives in a similar defiance. We reflect on Martin Luther King Jr, Socrates, the Christian Martyrs in Rome, as well as on our own lives and behavior to discern what such a defiance might look like today.
