I used to think that the people who got up before 7am were committing self-harm, not indulging in self-care. The thought of waking up before my kids felt as appealing as kale on crackers. And I put anyone who suggested such a thing, in the same category as kale and crackers.

It’s only now, with three kids in the equation and the same amount of time I had sans babies (how is that fair?!), that I realise why that lady on Pinterest, with the blonde hair, red-plaid shirt and brown faded cowboy boots, suggested that rising early was a good thing.
