It's all about Mimban on today's episode, including details of the past exploits, adventures, and unexpected turns of luck that brought together one of the most iconic duos in movie history. And a reference to Arby's that probably wasn't intentional by Lucasfilm. Punch it!

Thanks to the kind folks at DK Publishing, I've got the official guide to Solo: A Star Wars Story in hand, and I'm starting the first of my deep dives to share details that, as a fan, I think you might find especially interesting. Up today are timelines for the movie (and Han's and Qi'ra's ages), plus the details leading up to Han's escape from Corellia. Punch it!

In its third weekend, Solo: A Star Wars Story has been knocked out of the top spot in the box office by Ocean's 8, which turned out to have a better opening total than any of its own predecessors. The hand wringing about why Solo underperformed compared to expectations continues, and I'm addressing a new proposition - the idea that no one wants prequel films with a "young-so-and-so" character played by a new actor. Punch it!

It's been comparatively quiet on the Benioff and Weiss front. The showrunners of Game of Thrones, who will be developing their own series of Star Wars movies, are still hard at work wrapping up the final season of their hugely popular fantasy show on HBO. One of the stars of that show and Solo's Qi'ra, Emilia Clarke, has a rather provocative idea for what Star Wars under Benioff and Weiss might be like. Punch it!

We know just a little bit more about the Star Wars live action TV series being created by Rio Durant's voice actor, Jon Favreau. What's he got up his sleeve for us? We'll parse the details on today's episode. Punch it!

We're still in pre-production for Star Wars: Episode IX, and the details are still very hush-hush. But there's been a change in the working title of the movie, and it tells us absolutely nothing about the content of Episode IX - much like "Red Cup" and "Space Bear" told us nothing about Solo or The Last Jedi. But chances are there's some hidden meaning behind the choice, because J.J. Abrams is involved. Is it a Tolkien homonym? A drag queen reference? Or even a sly jab at a certain segment of Star Wars viewers? Punch it!

All right, enough with the heavy stuff. Let's have some fun! Registration opened for Star Wars Celebration Chicago 2019 on Tuesday, tickets and hotel blocks both. The organizers at ReedPOP also updated the Celebration website with a bunch of new details about the stages at the event, as well as some of the elements for which they'll be entertaining submissions from the fan public. I'm sharing all the details here in our first SW7x7 SWCC 2019 Update. Punch it!

There are some folks who would have you believe that half of Star Wars fans thought The Last Jedi was the worst offense ever committed against the franchise. And those folks would have you believe they're the reason why Solo: A Star Wars Story is doing so poorly at the box office, because they voted with their feet.

I've had a few people suggest that I'm ignoring this situation or not understanding its magnitude. So I'm going to address it head-on in today's podcast. We're going to talk about review-bombing and why the user scores on sites like Rotten Tomatoes can't be trusted, even if you assumed that every review on there was true and unique. And we're going to do the math to show why, even if you assumed the negative response was 10 times as large as Rotten Tomatoes says it is, it's only a drop in the bucket compared to Solo's overall box office performance. Punch it!

There was a time when making nearly $265 million in 10 days would have been considered remarkable! Not so anymore, considering the budget that Solo: A Star Wars Story had to work with (reshoots included). And especially considering the last three Star Wars movies each took home a haul north of a billion dollars. Scoundrel Business in today's podcast... Punch it!
