In 1980 Star Wars ruled the box office with the release of many people's favorite installment, The Empire Strikes Back. In that film our hero Han Solo was frozen in carbonite and taken to Jabba the Hutt by Boba Fett, leaving fans on the edge of their seats for three years. However, in August, 1980 there was a new Han Solo novel in your local bookstore--Han Solo and the Lost Legacy, the third and final installment of Brian Daley's Han Solo Adventures. However this novel doesn't resolve what happened to Han in Carbonite but rather tells of another Han Solo adventure taking place before the events in Star Wars - A New Hope. The Star Wars Action News Book Club has read this final Daley novel, and you can listen to to find out about this novel's lasting "Legacy", including the introduction of Xim the Despot to the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Also in this podcast we conclude our series of interviews about Daley's work talking to Michael Kogge, an author who has written a biographic article on Daley's Star Wars work as well as articles on Starwars.com about Xim the Despot.
