Star Wars Uplink | Weekly Star Wars Theories, Deep Dives, Discussions, and News

Return of the Jedi was very unique in its ending, positive galaxy wide celebration, but now that the Mandoverse is expanding, did they accidentally retcon the Trilogy ender? And How will new Jedi get their blades in the new Jedi order?

Return of the Retcon

Are they actually retconning the happy ending of Return of the Jedi?

How do we feel about this next shift

Will it be worth it?

Where will they get lightsabers for Rey’s Jedi Academy?

Now that Illum (the kyber crystal planet) has been destroyed, what will they do?

One theory suggests the old Inquisitorius

Another suggests hunting for forgotten blades across the galaxy

And yet another suggests there could be a new planet that is key in the story of the movie

Star Wars is filled with returns from the dead, but what would this change have done to Star Wars now… and what is Luke doing in the Mandoverse?

Asajj Ventress’s Original Revival

Asajj Ventress's return in The Bad Batch season 3 was originally planned for a different Star Wars property which would have been a decidedly bad decision.

Dave Filoni has always wanted to bring back Ventress and initially proposed her return in Star Wars Resistance, but her inclusion was voted against.

The Bad Batch is the right place to bring back Ventress because the show's established characters can hold their own meaning her appearance enhances the story without overshadowing it. Additionally, the show's timeline makes it easier to fill in two years of Ventress's story compared to the five decades required in Resistance

Why this original plan doesn’t work, but Bad Batch does

What is Luke Doing in the Mandoverse?

We see him in Book of Boba Fett, but what will he do going forward?

Where will he help in the modern fight against Thrawn?

Will he actually be in the future?

Before Disney, long gaps between movies and very little else was the norm. Yeah, you’d have Legends content like the books to fill in the gaps, but other than that, releases were few and far between. Which leads many to ask is there too much Star Wars? And the original plan for Rey was very different, but called back to some fun ideas.

Star Wars legends was filled with the strongest Force users in the entire Star Wars Universe, but according to this new theory Rey holds a power that even Palpatine didn’t have… and a fan animated short has inspired some new thoughts…

Rey Skywalker New Power

According to this theory Rey will have a new strength that will make her very interesting in the new movie

Could be from the original books they found

Animated Star Wars Moments?

There’s an incredibly well done fan animated short that recreates the iconic Anakin vs Obiwan fight from Revenge of the Sith, and that made me wonder if we could see more of this in the style of Tales of the Jedi or something else?
