He has been awarded with Uttarakhand Ratan Award, bestowed upon with Brand Icon of Kumaun  ( by Time of India), is a Receipient of Dewang Mehta Award for Management Education, awarded with the position of Col. Commandant of The Indian Army (NCC) and "Mayor for the Day" City of Fort Collins, Ohio(USA)

Dr. Bisht is currently serving the Nation in various capacities , some of them are as President-Fater Academy of India, Chairman (Board of Governors)- Bipin Tripathi Institute of Technology-Dwarahat,  GB Pant Institute of Engineering & Technology-Pauri, Institute of Technology-Gopeshwar.

He has earlier served as Assistant Director General-ICAR, Board Member IDBI Bank,& several Central Universities of India, Director Birla Institute of Allied Sciences-Bhimtal, Director CIPHET Ludhiana,Managing Director UKS & TDC-Uttarakhand, Director USS & OPCA, Uttarakhand. He has been on Board of IDBI Bank and several central universities of the country. He has also delivered results as a member of Project Approval Committee of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries-GOI

He takes interest in Arts and cross country events.

Our Host Dr. Shreesh Gautam takes you through the journey of Dr. P K Joshi,Id No 4077, Batch 1969 Agriculture, He is presently the President of the Agricultural Economics Research Association; and the Secretary of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Dr P K Joshi superannuated as the Senior Advisor to the Director-General and the Director-South Asia, International Food Policy Research Institute, Washington DC. 

He did his graduation, masters and doctorate degrees from the G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar.

Dr Joshi has received the following awards: 

1.       Dr M S Randhawa Memorial Award of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (2009–11), 

2.       Dr RC Agarwal Life Time Achievement Award of the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics (2012-13) for his outstanding contribution in social science and agricultural economics research and management; and 

3.       The Life Time Achievement Award of the Pantnagar Alumni Almamater Advancement Association. 

He has more than 40 years of research experience in the areas of impact assessment, technology policy, natural resource management, markets, and institutional economics. He was extensively working in South and Southeast Asian countries. 

Prior to this he was holding the positions of the Director, National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, and the Director of the National Centre of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research.

Dr Joshi has also served as the chairman of the SAARC Agricultural Centre’s governing board in Dhaka, Bangladesh (2006–08); chairman of the UN-CAPSA governing board in Bogor (2007); member of the BRICS-Agriculture group; and member of the intergovernmental panel on the World Bank’s International Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology for Development (2007–08). He served as a member of the International Steering Committee for the Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security Challenge Program, led by the ESSP Science Community and the CGIAR (2009–11). He was also a member of the core group of the Indian government’s “Right to Food” National Human Rights Commission.

He is the Fellow of the (1) National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, (2) Indian Society of Agricultural Economics, (3) Indian Society of Agricultural Engineering, and (4) International Society of Noni Research.
