Starting A Nonprofit

Listen Later

This was a long overdue podcast, and my apologies. I owe you

another apology for my under-the-weather sounding voice. But you
know how I roll, the show must go on- especially when it comes to
starting a nonprofit.

Starting a nonprofit was one of best decisions in my life. It

has been rewarding, fun and hard. Never a dull moment. Thanks
to one great board member and lawyer that helped us earn our
501c3, his services may be considered a luxury nowadays, possibly
even obsolete.

It's never been so easier to start a nonprofit. The IRS has the

application online, and there's all sorts of
help to get if you find yourself in trouble. I even decided to
write an Amazon eBook and blogs to make the process a bit easier. If
you prefer videos, I created YouTube videos to help those looking for 'a
face to a name' type of assistance. As I teach Nonprofit 101 to people from all different
backgrounds, I realize our resources are not as prominent and on
the forefront as they should be.

As promised, here are the 10 steps:

1. Research
2. Partner or Create
3. Know Your Role
4. Begin Writing
5. Start Library
6. Find Professional Supporters
7. Begin Filing Paperwork
8. Packaging Infrastructure
9. Set Up
10. Strategize
