Inato, a Paris, France-based platform for biopharmaceutical companies to increase the pool of available patients engaged in clinical trials, raised $14m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Obvious Ventures and Cathay Innovation, with participation from previous investors Serena and Fly Ventures.

As a part of the financing, Nan Li, managing director at Obvious Ventures, has joined Inato’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its predictive capabilities to match the right sites with the right studies and develop a comprehensive network of clinicians worldwide.

Now, only a year later, the Food Innovation Lab is shuttered and Soylent has moved to a smaller office space.

And in an increasingly digital world, Kaszek Ventures, Canary, ONEVC, Valor Capital, and Wayra have been convinced by Brazilian legaltech, Docket’s approach to this problem, through their document managing platform.

Nonetheless, according to Valor Econômico, the legaltech recently disclosed that summed up, these big names have invested around R$35 million (US$8 million) in Docket.

Since its founding, the startup has raised a total of R$37 million (about US$8.5 million).

A sealed order from a judge today has halted the $10 billion, decade-long JEDI project in its tracks until AWS’s protest of the contract award to Microsoft can be heard by the court.

HQ0034-18-R-0077, until further order of the court.

At the end of last month, Amazon filed a motion to stop work on the project until the court could rule on its protest.

After much wrangling, the DoD awarded the contract to Microsoft at the end of October.

The acquisition of razor startup Harry's fell apart this week after a government agency sued to block the $1.4 billion sale to conglomerate Edgewell.

But there's some speculation that Harry's bigger rival, Procter & Gamble, shares responsibility for the deal falling apart.

At the time, some analysts said Coca-Cola's planned acquisition was part of a plot to torpedo the Pepsi deal.

"For years, Edgewell and Procter & Gamble faced little competition on store shelves, and prices rose steadily as a result," Francis wrote.

Endras said a key change that has emerged in car ownership over the last year is the acceleration of subscription models.

When asked about challenges in the car-sharing industry, Mathieu said challenges will depend on the type of car-sharing in question.

Looking at what technologies will define the future of AutoTech, Endras said autonomy is going to drastically change how we think of cars.

Flywire, a Boston, MA-based vertical payments company, raised $120m in Series E funding.

The round, which brought total capital raised to $260m, was led by Goldman Sachs, with participation from new investors Tiger Management and Adage Capital Management and existing investors.

Flywire also acquired Simplee, a healthcare technology platform, The acquisition will enable Flywire to optimize the digital payments and patient engagement experience in healthcare and scale its global payments services.

Flywire is a vertical payments company solving vertical-specific payment and receivables problems for organizations in education, healthcare, travel or technology sectors.
