In a bid to compete with Amazon and Microsoft in cloud-based technologies, US-based tech giant Google, on Monday (January 20), announced its partnership with telecom major Bharti Airtel.

In this partnership, Airtel will offer services provided by Google’s G Suite.

As part of the tie-up, Jio is offering Microsoft Office 365 productivity suite and email exchange support to startups.

While both Google and Microsoft have entered into a partnership with Indian telcos, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently leading the cloud-based industry without any such tie-ups.

French proptech startup Matera, formerly known as illiCopro, has raised €10 million in a round led by Index Ventures.

The company will use the funding to accelerate product development, add 100 people to the team and expand internationally.

Matera, founded in 2017, has pioneered a model that allows residential property owners to self-manage all building operations, offering a suite of online services and direct access to professionals.

According to a statement by TSEC, the incorporation of facial recognition technology will help the election conducting body to tackle the problem of impersonation during polling.

The official dates for polling in the state and declaration of results are January 22 and January 25 respectively.

For confirming the identity of voters, TSEC has appointed additional polling officers who will have possession of mobile phones installed with the face recognition application.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its platform and its business reach in Germany and abroad.
