Insight Partners has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Veeam, a Baar, Switzerland-based global leader in backup solutions that deliver cloud data management, in a transaction valued at $5 billion.

This deal follows an investment from Insight Partners at the beginning of 2019.

The acquisition, which is expected to be closed in Q1 2020, will enable Veeam to accelerate its evolution into Hybrid Cloud, help the company expand into new markets and continue its growth trajectory.

OceanGate will take advantage of lessons learned during the construction of its carbon-hulled Titan submersible, which was originally built for Titanic journeys.

“Not enough to get to the Titanic,” Rush said.

That meant the Titanic trips — which had been planned at first for 2018, then 2019, then 2020 — had to be put off until mid-2021.

He said mission specialists who have paid more than $100,000 each to participate in the Titanic expeditions were “generally supportive but disappointed” by the delay.

News has just broken that Dutch online food ordering company Takeaway.com has won the battle for the UK-listed Just Eat with a €6.9 billion all-share offer.

The merged Takeaway – Just Eat will create one of the world’s largest meal delivery companies, handling orders worth more than rivals like GrubHub, Delivery Hero and Uber Eats.

Dutch company Takeaway.com, founded in 2000, delivers food in 11 countries, from Portugal to Poland.

In recent years it has acquired Berlin-based food ordering startup Lieferando and Delivery Hero’s German food delivery businesses Lieferheld, Pizza.de and foodora.
