University College Cork student Mark O’Sullivan has won top prize at the Student Entrepreneur Awards 2020 for a device that helps detect brain injuries in newborns.

Mark O’Sullivan has won the top prize at Enterprise Ireland’s Student Entrepreneur Awards 2020 for his Neurobell medical device.

The University College Cork student, who is doing his PhD with the Infant research centre, was one of 10 finalists participating in the virtual final of the third-level Student Entrepreneur Awards.

The Student Entrepreneur AwardsThis was the 39th annual Enterprise Ireland competition, which was sponsored by Cruickshank, Grant Thornton and the Local Enterprise Offices.

Sure, the startup turned heads with its pricey L16 camera, but these days mobile photography is almost exclusively the domain of the handset.

In a category where manufacturers raced to add more cameras, the PureView had the most, with a five-hexagonal array.

The Future Skills Centre (FSC) has invested in 30 community-based programs across Canada that aim to fill the skills gap and help workers acquire in-demand skills.

The centre is funded by the Government of Canada’s Future Skills Program.

The FSC was launched in February 2019 to fund new approaches to worker training skills development.

The FSC is also currently seeking proposals for rapid skills development projects for workers affected by COVID-19.
