The Knicks Season Opener is here, but injuries to Mitchell Robinson and Josh Hart have shaken up the rotation early. Mike Brown now has a unique opportunity to test some of the team’s young talent right out the gate.

Can Mohamed Diawara, Ariel Hukporti, and Pacome Dadiet step up and make an impact? With New York needing size and forward depth, these young prospects could be key pieces in keeping the Knicks competitive until the roster is back to full strength. I dont see Kolek playing as of yet.

We just wrapped up preseason ball at 4-1, and man… there’s a lot to talk about. I’m gonna break down the full preseason outlook, what stood out, and what it could mean heading into the regular season.

We’re starting at the top with the coaching staff — shoutout to Tom Thibodeau and the entire crew. The energy, the defensive identity, the rotations — everything’s starting to shape up.

Then we’re diving into the roster from top to bottom — Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson, Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Hart, the young guys, the bench mob — everybody played a role in that 4-1 run.

We’ll highlight some of the key preseason stats that caught my eye — things like the ball movement, defensive rating, shooting percentages, bench production, and how this team is looking a little different heading into the new season.

Mitchell Robinson was an absolute force, putting up a dominant performance with 7 points and 16 rebounds in just 18 minutes — pure hustle. Deuce McBride gave us a nice little scoring burst too, dropping 12 points and showing off some slick beep bop boop dribble moves. Mikal Bridges also looked solid out there in his Knicks debut, fitting in nicely with the squad.
