State Representative Mike Bayham, currently in Israel near the Gaza border, joins the show to discuss two major issues: the escalating conflict in the Middle East and a disturbing incident back home in Louisiana. Bayham described being just two miles from Gaza as Israeli forces launched a ground offensive. He recounted visiting a kibbutz recently attacked by Hamas, where terrorists broke into safe rooms and massacred civilians. He also visited the site of the Nova music festival, where hundreds were killed and kidnapped. Despite the proximity to violence, Bayham assured listeners that he and other visiting legislators are safe. Their trip is part of the Israeli America 250 initiative, celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and strengthening U.S.-Israel relations.
Back in Louisiana, Bayham and other state legislators received anonymous mail containing graphic images of lynchings, specifically referencing the Duluth lynching in Minnesota. The postcard was disturbingly marked with “thank you” and falsely attributed to South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, with a return address from the Department of Homeland Security. The mail’s postmark was from Denver, raising federal concern due to the misuse of a protected official’s name. Bayham immediately turned the materials over to the Louisiana Attorney General’s office and federal authorities.
The incident appears to be politically motivated, possibly by leftist activists targeting legislators alphabetically via public directories. The timing of the mailings—coinciding with the tragic death of Charlie Kirk—has heightened concern. Federal investigators are now involved, assessing whether this is a credible threat or a case of harassment. Bayham emphasized the seriousness of the situation and the need for vigilance in today’s increasingly volatile political climate.
