“SFTW” - Young basketball players these days have an enormous amount of responsibility, especially in the black community to take care of their families. It is important for young basketball players to remember that you can still be successful even if you do not make it to the NBA or WNBA. There are multiple career paths within the game of basketball and in the game of life. It is our responsibility to highlight and expose our youth to different career fields in order to broaden their horizons. We kick off our weekly HoopTalk with Anthony Edwards who might have had the dunk of the year. We discuss how that rank against the all time greatest dunks in NBA history. There’s no secret that Dame was snubbed for not being a starter in the upcoming All-Star game, played this year in Atlanta. Casey and Terez are both Derrick Rose fans. It is exciting to see Rose and Thibs link back up in New York. The Knicks are a blue-collar team and Derrick Roses’s veteran presence might be just what they need to solidify them as a real playoff contender. A couple weeks ago Kyrie Irving was quoted saying that he deemed James Harden as their point guard, which is obvious for most basketball minds. That makes Kyrie the shooting guard, and with that being said we discuss where we rank Kyrie in the league amongst other players in that position. We have to show some love to Minnesota’s own Gary Trent Jr. The man deserves a bag, real 3 and D player. Now if the Nets and Lakers meet in the finals we believe Nets will win the series. But Casey, as a fan of the Nets, tends to talk a little crazy saying the Nets will win in five. All we can say is playoff LeBron is different. We finish the episode by talking about the best sneakers yet to come in the last week of February in our Rock or Not segment. We made our first music shoutout to a Minnesota rap artist named NLU Skeet. We previewed his song Another surgery, which is straight fire. This episode is loaded. “50 On It” – WARNING !! Be careful who you tell your goals and visions to, you might be speaking to the enemy. In this episode, we acknowledge Black History Month and discuss our Super Bowl predictions – can’t believe Casey’s betting against the goat, Tom Brady, so you know we had to bet “$50 On It.” Kobe Bryant played a significant role in our childhood. We share how he impacted our lives and give our condolences to his family in addition to the other family who unfortunately lost their lives in the plane crash. We also reminisced on our favorite Kobe moments and what led us to be lifelong fans. There is so much skill and competition in the NBA and we cover which teams may be left out of the playoffs. Who has the best teams in their conference – the East or West? Two teams we expect to be at the top of their conferences are playing mediocre basketball to say the least, which are the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks but we are starting to see the true value of Jimmy Butler. Kemba Walker returned to the Celtics to face against LeBron and the Lakers. Do the Celtics have what it takes to come out the East and should LeBron be considered a front-runner for MVP? Tune in to hear our thoughts. Can’t forget Bradley Beal whose hard work is recognized yet he continues to shake his head in frustration on the bench, so our motto is FREE BRAD.

The wizards have been struggling and so has Russell Westbrook, hopefully they will get back on track. Surprisingly, the Rockets are showing promise with their new nucleus and Terez believes they could be a shocker in the West. The Clippers are quietly making a comeback and are having a great season so far, but do you believe in them when it counts? That's the question. We end this episode with talking about the Big Man dominating in a league full of scoring guards. Lastly, we brought this question up in our third episode but will KD get the hot third ring? “Wear Your Mask” - During this podcast we discuss which rookies to be on the look out for. Lamelo Ball going CRAZY right now and James Wiseman is showing that he has tremendous upside. Here we talk about our most improved player (MIP) predictions and early most valuable player (MVP) selections. Christian Wood or Jaylen Brown for MIP? Kevin Durant or Luca for MVP? And you know we had to talk about the elephant in the room which was James Harden to the Nets to join Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. We also had to show love to Paige Bueckers and Jalen Suggs, both from our hometown Minneapolis, MN and both projected to get drafted in the lottery.
