Status Alternative

I have returned!!! We got a new format, a new episode, and a new attitude! No boring, long-winded episodes. Just straight fun and oddball content. I talk about why I went on hiatus, and we get spooky. I talk about Bram Stoker's most well-known work, Dracula!!! I give my quick thoughts and talk about how funny I found Jonathan Harker's struggle.

On today's episode, Naomi and I discuss the quasi-remake/reboot of 1981's The Evil Dead, Evil Dead from 2013. We also share our thoughts on the sequel that premiered in April 2023. In my opinion, both movies are equally terrifying and gory and wonderfully written while also doing the original trilogy justice; this was a fun watch.

Hello, all you wonderful people. I must say, this is slowly becoming one of my favorite things to do. I love recommending bands to you all. This week's episode will discuss In Search of Solace, thrown, and Blood Youth. I did cover Blood Youth before, but the audio was corrupted, so that I will discuss them again. Since that initial episode, a lot has happened with the band, so tune in and remember to stay alternative!

P.S. Shout out to Yunger for their new EP Don't Want To Lose, and I covered them in Recommending Bands Vol 3.

Hello everyone, on today's episode, I will give my thoughts on the 2018 British spy thriller Killing Eve based on the Villanelle novel series created by Luke Jennings. In it, I talk about what I liked and didn't like about the show. Enjoy and remember, stay alternative!

Welcome back to another episode! I have a special episode for all of you; Andy Brewer from The Rating Room podcast is joining me from the UK. Andy is on today to discuss how he got into pro wrestling. We talk about him being a fan at an early age, who were some of his favorite wrestlers, we talk about the UK indie wrestling scene, and we talk about our thoughts on the current landscape of pro wrestling. This was a very fun episode, and you can follow Andy and The Rating Room Podcast here:

*EDITOR NOTE: This episode was recorded in March of this year, and I am just now editing and releasing it. Glad to be back!*

We have a return!!! Kari is back! She returned to the podcast to join me in discussing two movies. The 2022 comedy horror The Menu and the 2019 satirical black comedy horror film Velvet Buzzsaw. Both movies take a critical take on the art world and the culture of high-end dining. Few people enjoyed Velvet Buzzsaw, but I may be among the few who did. The Menu, however, had raving reviews from critics and audiences alike. Bring out fine China, look at some fine art, and remember to Stay alternative.

You can check out Kari's travel blog at www.thekariguidebook.com or her Instagram account @thekariguidebook!

Hi everyone, I know it's been a minute, but I wanted to put out a bonus episode for everyone waiting for new episodes. Enjoy the show on Sunday, and remember to STAY ALTERNATIVE!!!

Last year, there was a manga that captivated many anime/manga fans like myself. That series was called SPY X FAMILY. Do this series ask what happens when a telepath, a spy, and an assassin pretending to be a family to save their country from war? Meet the Forgers! Loid, Anya, and Yor Forger stole our hearts with their unique family dynamic. From going to the zoo to adopting a dog to stopping assassins from killing a mother and child! Tune in to my review of Spy X Family and remember to stay alternative.

I am back with another set of new bands to recommend. This time, the bands are Queen Kona, Autumn Lies Buried, and Echostone. These bands are all very different, with unique sounds, so check them out and remember to stay alternative. P.S. I apologize for mispronouncing Echostone's name throughout the whole episode. Sorry gentlemen! Check out their new song dropping on April 10th!!!
