This week I’m taking it easy with some smooth R&B and Hip-Hop, while special guest Marcelina Wick brings a blend of House, minimal Techno and Break Beats. I’ve been a fan of hers ever since I discovered her through my work at Ace so it’s an honour to have her finally get involved with Stay Cool. As the founder of Sticky Plastik, a dope minimal Techno event here in London Marcelina also has regular slots at some of the most esteemed venues both here and in Ibiza. Tune into her guest mix to get a sample of makes her sound so special.

Stay safe, stay home and stay cool,

R.I.P. Ty and Black the Ripper ❤️

This week I run through some a wide mix of favourites going from R&B to trap and beyond before closing out with two of my favourite joints from FlyLo and Frank ocean respectively. In the guestmix I’m joined by Loelash, an Italian producer based in London who’s one of the nicest and most talented artists I know. He’s just dropped an awesome pack of Baile edits so his guest mix matches, and includes a few of the edits he just dropped. Grab the pack here: https://loelash.bandcamp.com/album/baile-edits

I've been continuing to record new shows weekly, but I'm finally back uploading and this week I pay tribute to one of the greatest producers of our time and a man I’m proud to know, Evil Needle. As the first person to get me into the future beat scene and Soulection back in 2012 through Tall Black Guy’s incredible Tempo Dreams Vol. 1 compilation it’s been amazing watching his growth since then. With a unique sound that blends bass lines and melodies in a way that is distinctively his, Needle has proven time and time again that when it comes to genres he can tackle anything. In this first volume of Essential Evil Needle we revisit some of his best R&B and Hip-Hop tracks, with a fair number of unreleased tracks he’s been working on recently.

Since I released All Knxwledge Mix back in 2014 people have been asking me to do similar mixes for other artists and so I’m proud to debut this as the first mix in my new Essentials series in which I compile my favourite tracks by some of my favourite producers. Follow me on twitch to catch Essential Evil Needle Volume Two live: https://twitch.tv/seangran

For show 049 Stay Cool returns to its roots as a mix series, with no drops and no talking, just music. This instalment, red eye, is the first of a series of lo-fi hip-hop mixes I've been compiling since 2017 dedicated to help you sleep and/or chill in these tumultuous times. Anime fans should recognise the name and artwork as a tribute to my favourite of all time. No tracklist, so comment if you want a track ID.

Stay safe, stay home and stay cool,

seangran

PS: This track is the second in a series of colour mixes I’ll be releasing, starting with the Otaku Trap focused BLUESCREEN from 2015. If you wanna listen to the first instalment check it out here: https://soundcloud.com/seangran/bluescreen-stay-cool-014

Back in December I spoke to Daniel Daley and Nineteen85 aka dvsn ahead of their third studio album A Muse In Her Feelings (out today!) about the Toronto R&B scene, working with Future and how their new project brings them further into the spotlight.
