What does it actually look like to chase your dreams when you have no idea what you’re doing?

Lately, for me, it looks like learning how to start a business, figuring out insurance and finances, planning my own dance workshops, putting my ideas out into the world, and getting a crash course in all the things I somehow never learned in school.

In this episode, I’m talking about the messy middle of pursuing a creative life — learning business fundamentals, questioning the way we’re taught to learn, overcoming the fear of rejection, and trusting yourself enough to act on an idea before you know exactly how it’s all going to work.

I also share a belief I keep coming back to: big ideas are out there, and when one finds you, maybe your job isn’t to hold onto it until everything is perfect. Maybe your job is to do something with it.

apparently today we’re unpacking my anger issues!! but tell me, how do YOU let go of anger and resentment?

I’ve realized I don’t want to keep waking up angry at people, situations, or life not going the way I expected it to.

So we’re talking about resentment, expectations, control, empathy, letting go & whatever else comes out of my mouth along the way.

I don’t have the answers. I’m just figuring it out out loud. 🤍

Lately, I’ve been navigating a lot of uncertainty, career changes, inconsistent income, figuring out what I actually want my life to look like, and trying to trust myself through all of it.

I keep coming back to the same thing: dance.

In this morning chat, I talk about leaving social media management, finding my way back to dance, creating a heels dance workshop in Raleigh, following your dreams even when they don’t make perfect sense, and learning to believe in yourself before anyone else does.

Maybe we don’t need to have everything figured out. Maybe the dreams we can’t seem to let go of are trying to tell us something.

Della Downey was born and raised in New Jersey and brought her talent and love for music to Los Angeles. From stealing the mic to sing the Italian version of Ave Maria when she was 3 at a wedding to performing singles Upgrade and Again from her debut EP ‘Love, Yours Truly’, at Los Globos, a love for music has always been a part of Della’s life. She’s been inspired by her mother Sherrie Downey’s perseverance, and the support in all of her endeavors that she shows. Della was raised and lives her life in the reflection of love and compassion. You can hear it in her music which is currently on all platforms. Multifaceted, Della also has her bachelors degree in photography which she received amidst her pursuit in music. She also is honing her craft in hip hop, and heels dances, e-commerce modeling, and creative direction. We’re looking forward to hearing what she’s got for us in 2024.

Today we talk about healing from people pleasing tendencies, finding closure after a relationship, attachment styles and how to go from friends to lovers! And since this is still the beginning process of my podcast there will inevitable be some hiccups… so unfortunately, my recording equipment overheated for the first part of this podcast and it is no where to be found :( BUT I felt this conversation was too good to not share.
