Simon Le talks about how back in 2000 established the first Capoeira classes in Canberra, Australia, a Brazilian martial art in which he is a Contra Mestre, or brown belt. Simon has travelled nationally and internationally to teach and train Capoeira, and is recognised as a pioneer of the art form in Australia. Simon also holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a martial art in which he competed locally and nationally. I've been fortunate to train with Simon and experience his gentle approach to my unique needs and explore natural movement like crawling and squatting. His coaching style has been influenced and inspired by many people over the years, Simon draws on aspects of martial arts, gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, Crossfit, human movement and sports conditioning, to design and tailors programming for his clients. I loved talking with him about how his passion become his life and the importance of a group activity on individual's mental health.
