We are doing way to much apologizing, justifying, explaining and disclaiming about the TRUTHS that we hold when children ask us questions. We are SO AFRAID of the “backlash” from everyone in that child’s life for ‘contradicting’ what they are being taught. IF, and I say if, you claim to be an example to follow or a role model in a childs life and they ask you a question that you know is going to “cause trouble,” consider that the SOUL of that child may be looking for a reprieve from current indoctrination OR simple another view to consider as it navigates its own human experience. You can let a child know that it is a personal decision but DO YOUR JOB and tell the truth. You have no idea what a gift or inspiration it may be. 🙏🏾
