Be careful about momentary pleasures that end up becoming a permanent destination! When you want to do your own thing instead of God’s thing, it eventually will bring a great famine to every area of your life. The prodigal son didn’t ask for his inheritance to have a higher standard of living — he was born into the money, he already had servants, he already lived in a palace! He asked for his inheritance out of wanting to control his future. He didn’t think it was enough to live under the blessing of his father! Like the prodigal son, you might think you can take your blessing with you, but you can’t live in the blessing if you don’t stay in the house. God will not stop you from sinning, and His blessings aren’t transferable to your new life of disobedience! Don’t move yourself from where the Lord has planted you! Don’t let the enemy blind you to the truth and a fog on your mind! The enemy can’t send a famine to your life when you have food, your needs are met, and you’re where God has called you to be — stay obedient and stay in the house!
