  • Customer Relationships with Cisco are Complicated and Evolving

If you buy technology and services from a value added reseller (VAR), it’s important that you also have direct relationships with the key product manufacturers – also known as OEMs (short for original equipment manufacturers) – because those are the producers of the products you purchase through the VAR.  Nowhere is this more important for most companies than with one of the bigger OEMs… Cisco.

In this 10 minute podcast, Ben Fox, one of TC2’s Managing Directors, and Joe Schmidt look at how Cisco’s enterprise interactions are evolving and offer guidance on how you can get the most value out of your Cisco relationship.

  • AT&T Tries to Slow T-Mobile’s Ascendancy in Race to Win 5G

Worldwide, the race is on to build out 5G networks.  In the U.S., T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T are laying out their plans, and their money, to own a piece of this next-generation wireless market.  At the beginning of this month, however, AT&T filed a Petition at the Federal Communications Commission asking for the adoption of so-called “spectrum screens.”  Is this AT&T being a good corporate citizen supporting sensible regulation to preserve competition, or is AT&T cynically exploiting the regulatory process to slow down T-Mobile and protect its own position?

To find out, listen to this 10-minute podcast in which LB3 Partners Kevin DiLallo and Andrew Brown talk with TC2’s Joe Schmidt and provide an explanation of spectrum screens, why they could be a good thing for competition in 5G, and what it all means for enterprises.

According to sources, GTT Communications is heading into Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  The filing is expected to take place once GTT’s sale of its European and transoceanic fiber business is completed with I-Squared Capital.  The bankruptcy filing could be a bad thing for enterprises or – by eliminating close to $3 billion in debt – GTT might be able to refocus its business and offer the type of transformational technology and services enterprises need.

In this 8 minute podcast, Jack Deal, one of TC2’s Managing Directors, and Joe Schmidt take a look at how GTT got into this position and offer some tips for current and future GTT customers.

  • Whoops! They Did it Again: T-Mobile’s Latest Data Breach is a Doozy

Well, it happened again.  For the fifth time in three years, T-Mobile, the nation’s second largest wireless carrier, has suffered a data breach that exposed highly sensitive personal information, affecting some 53 million current and past customers, as well as others who may have applied for T-Mobile accounts and were denied.  Most alarmingly, it appears T-Mobile wasn’t aware that it had been hacked and the hackers claim to have already sold the first batch of data.

This 11-minute podcast with Kevin DiLallo, a Partner at LB3, and TC2’s Joe Schmidt takes a closer look at how this hack may influence how your enterprise conducts its business and offers up some much-needed guidance to help you protect your company and your data.
