Episode 066: “When Our ‘Parts’ Crash”
We all hope that our toughest conversations will yield growth and positive results in ourselves and in our relationships. The road to those results, though, is by no means easy, and requires inner work. This week, based on some realizations that came to JD before, during, and after a particularly tough series of conversations with a close friend, Ashley and JD discuss how various "parts" of ourselves can sometimes reveal themselves in painful fashion, pointing us towards the areas where we need to pursue healing. Part of the discussion focuses on Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy principles and practices as a point of reference, though please note that neither JD or Ashley are experts in that field, nor are their statements meant to be taken as medical advice. For more information on IFS, click the link below and / or reach out to a licensed therapist.
