I think that one of the reasons we decide we aren't of use to society anymore as we get older is that we become irrelevant.  The reason we become irrelevant is because we go out of communication with the younger generations.  We have to stay in touch with those younger than ourselves.  It's not hard to do.  In fact, it can be fun!
