Damon Hawkins is an independent insurance adjuster and the founder of Steepgear, LLC., an apparel company providing roof safety products specifically designed to reduce the risk of falls and accidents. The patented product is designed to prevent or slow the descent on virtually any roofing material or surface including wood, metal, composite, tile, plywood, and underlayment. The idea for Steepgear apparel was initially inspired from Damon’s years of working in the roofing industry as well as an insurance adjuster and the several instances he has experienced of slipping and falling off roofs.

 

Darren joins me today to discuss the importance of staying safe while inspecting roofs. He shares how he got started in the roofing industry and why he pivoted his career to become an insurance adjuster.
