To hear the prevailing narrative, the United States invented and perfected slavery and it's central to our identity.  Author Robert Gleason (www.robertgleasonbooks.com) joins us to discuss his new novel Dead Men Don't Lie which features fact-based accounts of what slavery was like in Mexico during Porfirio Diaz's reign.  He examines the differences between slavery in America's history as opposed to how it was with our neighbor to the south, and how the barbarity of it in Mexico has affected culture there today.  The U.S. didn't invent slavery, but we did abolish it, which is not the norm of history.
