Recently we had to deal with the sudden demise of our dear friend Henry.
His passing was very unexpected, and he went way too early.
Last weekend we gathered with friends from across decades to remember him in our way. Family friendly during the day, and with loud music during the evening. With sets by Chris AA, Sacha AA, Owen ODS#23 and Li-Z and me. The 3h set from Li-Z and me is here! (tracklist below)
For this occasion we choose lots of end 90s and beginning 00s hardcore techno that defined the scene when we started to explore and develop our passion.
Henry was one of the gateway persons in our discovery of our kind of raves. I think I first met him around 1997. And I was fortunate enough to tag along in his car into numerous adventures!
Later on, he provided a safe place for likeminded souls through his online forum Aliens On Acid, where we discussed all sorts of topics, passions, travel ideas, and music. This proved to be a place (pre-social media) where you could also meet people and where lasting friendships were forged.
When we started our own Soundsystem, Henry and his Acid Anonymous crew were super helpful in unconditionally sharing their knowledge, experience, their equipment, and guided us to our first set of Wbins and Martin Audio philyshaves :D With many collaborations to follow.
We shared mutual concerns about our scene, and we had each others backs in in some necessary discussions.
Henry, thank you! You were a unique and top human, and I will cherish the precious memories forever. Legend!
