Brittany Ballou is in her fifth year of teaching but her first as a S.T.E.A.M. teacher. Brittany is a huge fan of Disney which explains her Twitter handle @ImagineerSTEAM. The last few years she was in a math/science gifted program which allowed her to naturally start STEAM projects as they go hand in hand. What is ironic is she is a very type A person but S.T.E.A.M does not really allow for that so she has come to the conclusion if her room is a mess at the end of the day it must have been a good one.

What does Jodie Lang do in her classroom?
• builds relationships
• play games
• encourages laughter
• releases control, builds independence (in other words, stop taking yourself so seriously!)
• stops wasting money on store-bought stuff to decorate with
• lets the kids take ownership over their learning space
Jodie Lang was the 2012 Ontario Elementary Teacher of the Year. In one of her blog posts she says; "It's only taken me 24 years to come to some great realizations. I made a decision before the first day of school that my goal was to make the kids want to come back to school. Forget rules and routines, procedures and policies, I want to make the beginning an enjoyable experience."
Join Chris and Jodie as they discuss trying new things in class, failing (because yes sometimes you fail but that's ok), and letting the kids take control of the classroom in a good way.
