Children are a challenge! Some children are more difficult than others. Do you have the support you need? How were you disciplined as a child? Questions you need to ask yourself so your child can reach their potential.

ADULTS: What you can do! Empower your child by asking questions, role playing and sharing your story. Your child can grow strong and resilient with the courage to walk away or report a bully.

The key to reducing inner city crime and violence requires trained, small groups helping each other connect to reduce fear and social isolation. As citizen build trust, they develop confidence and support each other to make the community safer. Stories about people and ideas to stimulate participation.

How citizens took charge and organized a county crime prevention committee. Six coordinators organized 27 volunteer committees in small and big cities within one California county to work with police to make neighborhoods safe.

How 10 volunteers reduced crime and drug abuse in a community of 17,500 residents. Within two and a half years...crime decreased 48%. Documented in the book, "Alternative to Fear: Guidelines for safer neighborhoods." This "how to" guidebook helped launch the national "Neighborhood Watch" program.

How the breakdown within families, neighborhoods, communities and the religious community has been exploited by the media which has contributed to violent behavior. What needs to change to keep kids safe and create strong, resilient families.
