World View collective member Stephen Mikesell has a knack of being in Nepal when consequential things happen there. Steve originally began working on World View, then known as Third World View, in the 1990s when he called in reports about the political upheaval as the country transitioned from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy.

When he lived in Madison, Steve was a regular contributor to the show, performing the roles of news writer, reader, host, interviewer and engineer and he also did some carpentry and electrical work at WORT.
