This past Sunday, Joey spoke to us on the man Stephen, who is introduced in the book of Acts. In the message, Joey references two sections of scripture that tell Stephen's story. Acts 6:7-15 is where we are first introduced to this man described as being full of grace and power. Then in Acts 7:51-8:3, we see Stephen's death as a martyr for the gospel. In unpacking all of this, Joey gives four points of Stephen's mentorship; despite being an ordinary man Stephen is full of grace and power, he walked with gospel clarity and conviction, he lived in the belief that Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, and lastly, Stephen demonstrated that to live is Christ and to die is gain. We should consider deeply the example that Stephen gives us.
