Stepmom It Up

In this episode I’ll explain how life changed once I became a stepmom, particularly how I lost control and started feeling anxious. I’ll also discuss how to have difficult conversations with partners when you know the topic can be a sensitive one.

Do you have a mother in law who makes your life harder than it needs to be? Does she lack boundaries and make you feel like you’re not good enough? Well, you’re not alone. Listen in to hear some of my stories dealing with my own mother in law and how I navigate through difficult situations.

In this episode I will discuss with no filter how my own “daddy issues” impact my relationship with husband and ability to show up as a stepmom. I will also touch on my struggles with resentment and give myself some reality checks. Dealing with our own trauma is crucial if we want to have a healthy relationship with our partners and step kids.

Welcome to episode 2. In this episode I discuss some of the challenges I face as a stepmom as well as some of the positive aspects of being a step parent. Whether you are a bio parent or step, we all have embedded parenting styles that differ from on another. We are also all dealing with our own sh*t. Maybe you will agree and can relate to me or maybe you won’t. Both are okay! I also share a dramatic jacket story that I experienced this week with my stepdaughter. It was her birthday party, my mother-in-law is visiting/staying with us, and I’m currently preparing for final exams. Life is feeling pretty chaotic at the moment.
