    Do life’s circumstances leave you wondering what is God’s will?  How do you deal with this or handle that?  Where do you go from here? What is your next step?

    We often find ourselves in this place and it can be overwhelming.  I have gathered some verses and some questions into a journaling resource to help us process what’s next- how do we act in trust?

    Journaling Questions:

    ·      What challenges in your life is God using to show you He is trustworthy?

    ·      Where are you feeling like you are in control?

    ·      Does realizing you have no control feel like it is a good place to be?  

    ·      What characteristic of God gives us hope when we come to realize our lack of control?

    ·      What outward steps of faith are you being called to?

    ·      What do you do in the moments of chaos and fear?

    ·      Jesus is your truest friend?

    ·      Are you going to Him with your needs?

    ·      What changes do you want your circumstances and challenges to grow in you?

    ·      Do you need to acknowledge God’s control in a certain circumstance?

    ·      Do you need to consider the truth of God’s faithfulness not matter the outcome.

  • Lasting Hope - Samuel's story w/Jillian Wright

    What if our hope did not depend on circumstances? What if instead we could allow those same circumstances to help us realize our need from a good and faithful God?

     For Jillian it was  when hope of circumstances improving was stripped away that she was truly able to focus on God as our lasting hope.  He is our hope that is secure outside of good or bad outcomes.

    ·      How do you feel when you are faced with challenging circumstances?

    ·      What do you do with feelings of fear?

    ·      What do you do when you are find yourself unsure how to more forward?

    ·      How do you process the fear of unknowns?

    ·      Do you feel like your hope is in outcomes and circumstances? 

    ·      Do circumstances change your hope?  What is your hope in?

    ·      Can you look at your life and see how hard circumstances could be a call to trust God more fully? Explain.

    ·      Do you expect something from God in exchange for your obedience?

    ·      What do your actions say about where you are looking for security or hope?

    ·      What are we giving up to live in trust?

    ·      Do you have a circumstance where you need to decide if it doesn’t go my way will I still trust? Are you willing to trust even when our circumstances are not as we choose?  

    ·      What are the markers of God’s faithfulness in your life?

    ·      Do you questions is God good?

    ·      Are you tempted to think it was something good in you that allows you to have relationship with God?  Look at Romans 9.  

    ·      Do you think that you deserve God’s compassion?

    ·      Does this freedom from actions tempt you to disregard following God?

    ·      Matthew 20- does it seem unfair that those who don’t work as long get the same reward?  Are you wanting God to be fair?  What does fair look like according to Romans 6:23?

    ·      How does this truth “God will have mercy on some” relate to our call to obedience?

    ·      What are some examples of God’s compassion and mercy in your life?

    ·      Do you see the law as a Father telling us what is good for us and how to seek him in relationship? Look at Nehemiah 9:11-15

    ·      What would God treating you according to your sin look like? What scripture supports this?
