Stereoactive Presents

"Chloé Zhao’s extraordinary new film, ‘Nomadland,’ is available to stream on Hulu and stars Frances McDormand as a woman who travels across the country, living out of her van as she goes from one temporary job to the next. It’s a gorgeous docudrama that centers on a somewhat self-imposed lifestyle of solitude punctuated by experiences and interactions, made all the more special for their briefness and limits. While set in 2012, the themes resonate strongly with our pandemic-inflected lives today, all the way down to the film’s dedication:

Dedicated to the ones who had to depart.

See you down the road.

We also revisit a couple of installments of our ‘1st Person’ storytelling series in which people describe their lives on the road.

Plus live performances from Jonas Carping and Hoorsees, both recorded exclusively for BTRtoday.
