On my season 2 finale, I have a very special guest for you. Season 2 has been all about paranormal activity and investigation. A very important component to most of these films and documentaries is the presence of a psychic medium somewhere in the mix. Well, I'm very fortunate to have a dear friend who has been blessed with psychic and spiritual gifts, Mary Cassaday. After my interview with Mary, I'll be talking about the one film that set the standard for haunted house films in the 1980s, and remains one of the most beloved horror films of all time. Poltergeist.
Shows like Ghost Adventures, The Dead Files, Paranormal Caught on Camera, and Destination Fear would take paranormal investigation to new heights, and bring such amazing pieces of evidence forward to shake the foundation of non-believers. Before we get into that, I get to follow up with a great friend of the family, Luke Sochacki, to share his stories of growing up in a haunted house.
The Blair Witch project reinvigorated the world of found footage films and set the stage for future films like Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield, and others. The Blair Witch was portrayed as a local legend; just like the Michigan Dog Man, and the Torch Lake Monster. I'll give you a little info about two Michigan local legends that will have you looking over your shoulder when you're out in the woods or swimming in the lake.
Diving into another masterpiece series from James Wan, Insidious. Just like The Conjuring, the Insidious films terrified audiences and represent the true embodiment of horror. But before that, I have another Ouija Board venture that you might find a little spooky.
No film series has made me jump more than Paranormal Activity. I spent more time trying not to leap out of my seat than actually paying attention to the plot of the movies. I try to connect the dots between all these films for those like me who were so terrified that the story meant nothing at the time. Before that, I'll tell you about a high intensity encounter my friends and I had playing with a Ouija Board.
The Conjuring Universe stands as one of the most terrifying group of films of all time, and I'm honored to have all of them in my horror section. Before we delve into them, I have a story for you from a dear friend of mine.
Season 2 is all about movies, documentaries, and tv series dedicated to Paranormal Activity. To kick off this season I present a look at Steve Shippy's Haunted Saginaw film series. But before we get into that, I have another chilling paranormal encounter of mine to share with you.
Happy Holidays and welcome to my season 1 finale!! For this episode I wanted to talk about the horror icon that inspired Steve's Horror Section, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark. AND, since it is Christmas, I felt a holiday horror film was in order. Krampus was a great film, and well on it's way to becoming a cult classic.
H. P. Lovecraft's The Unnamable is one of those hidden gems of Horror that has almost been forgotten about, but as long as it's in my horror section, I won't let that happen. After that, I have a story for you about a phantom cat back in my apartment days.
Mama was a horrifying film, but also one that kept family as its core message. After that I introduce you to my amazing little brother Adam. He will share some spooky experiences that he has had.
